Samples of Data Base (200 compounds)
This term has been
used to describe the fact that data from stereotactic implanted
electrodes are transmitted telemetrically from freely moving rats. It
allows fingerprinting CNS drug effects into different categories (like
stimulants, neuroleptics, analgesics ....) according to electrical
brain activity. Processing of the raw data by Fast Fourier
Transformation and separation of the data into specially defined
frequency ranges (delta, theta, alpha and beta waves) provides
information on time and dose related changes induced by compounds
acting on the central nervous system with respect to four brain areas
and six frequency ranges. This approach provides 24 variables producing
an electrical fingerprint as depicted below for some wellknown standard
pharmaceuticals.
