Preclinical Drug Profiling

The key question in drug development is: what kind of clinical indication can I expect with my new drug entity? Classically quite a number of disease specific animal tests have to be performed. Knowing that any drug acting on the brain modulates the electrical activity and that similar drugs change the frequency pattern of the brain`s activity in a similar manner, recording of the EEG provides all the information needed. With a reference data base of about 200 preparations, classification of a new compound can be performed within weeks saving a lot of money. All pharmacological textbook indication are covered. Primary Nervous Tissue Culture with electrically active neurons.

Field potentials recorded from the depth of the brain contain information on ion channel activities, neurotransmitter actions and determine behaviour. On an intermediate level between molecular events and behaviour, frequency analysis of these potentials provide solid information on the effectiveness of drugs.
Clinical Studies

We are certified for the conduction of clinical studies aiming at the characterization of drug effects as well as the substantiation of health claims with respect to nutraceuticals. Since the electric activity of the brain determines our cognitive, emotional and motor capabilities, a new special methodology of quantitative EEG analyis provides all information needed to find out about the action of drugs on the brain. Source density analysis of the EEG provides similar information as field potentials in deeper brain structures. Symphony of neurotransmitter activity is mirrored in particular frequencies and determine cognition, emotion and motor activities. This non-invasive technology allows for objective determination of surrogate parameters of clinical drug action .
